Just Action was a solo project at the University of Bradford, where I wanted to challenge my ability by filming the whole short film handheld. This taught me more about using a camera than any other project. I had to practice movements with the camera to ensure the subject stayed in  focus and that it was not too shaky. I learned that if done well handheld complements the fights scenes and makes the action feel more real making the viewer feel more involved.

WORLD SOURCE was a student production whilst I studied at the University of Bradford. This was a 6 Part sci-fi series. We had access to a budget, allowing us to use paid actors and quality props for our episodes, whilst also using professional industry standard equipment.

There was five members of my group, all with different roles - I was the camera operator. I used the Black Magic 4K URSA Camera, which really helped take the series to the next level. As the project developed we ran into some bumps in the road, one of the major ones being our editor getting sick 24 hours before the deadline, having barely started editing. Since I was the only one that could properly edit in the group, I had to come in and stay up all night and day completing the edit before the deadline. With the odds against us, we still managed to create a great episode and achieve joint best episode in the class.

The absence of Human contact (‘Isolation’), was an experimental film based on what isolation does to a person who lives alone. This was all filmed on my iPhone, due to not having access to camera equipment. This was due to filming taking place during the first national lockdown. During this time, I was living alone and had nobody to film with, this really challenged me and limited what I could do. Consequently, I had to scrap my original idea of doing a psychedelic trip within a club. Instead, I tired to take full advantage of the situation by doing a vlog format. This allowed me to show the extreme reality of how self isolation can lead to the deterioration of someone's mental health.
